I love that the recipes are showcased by levels of
raw, which take you from a foundation of cooked vegan recipes to more
raw food dishes to help you transition to a
plant - centric
diet.
I have been cooking a
plant based
diet (with a lot of
raw meals) for a coworker of mine to help her transition in to a healthier lifestyle.
Their traditional
diet includes
raw game (such as caribou, seal, whale and fish) and few
plant - derived foods.
New research conducted by scientists at the University of York and the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona reveals for the first time that Europe's earliest humans did not use fire for cooking, but had a balanced
diet of meat and
plants - all eaten
raw.
I always strive to motivate my patients to eat as many whole,
plant - based foods as they can on a daily basis (both
raw and cooked), and juicing can put them over the top, enjoying the best odds of health and longevity in a society that favors nutrient - poor, processed, and fast food
diets.
Some of the major speakers included the very fit Mark Sisson, author of The Primal Blueprint (photo with me and Mark) and an advocate for the Paleo / Primal
diet; the calming Paul Pitchford, author of Healing With Whole Foods and an expert in traditional Chinese Medicine; the dynamic and energetic David Wolfe (photo below right), an authority on
raw foods nutrition and superfoods; and the inspirational John Robbins, advocate of a
plant - based
diet and the son of the Baskin - Robbins founder who cured his father's diabetes through a change in
diet.
Over the past 10 years, I've shifted to a mainly
raw plant based
diet, explored alternative modalities of healing therapies and realised that being well and healthy is a way of life.
Nor do I choose an extreme
diet path — I teach 60 - 80 %
raw, mostly
plant foods; I'm not even a vegetarian.
Losing weight with a

I actually had a thyroid problem and instead of taking meds, I relied on a mostly
raw food
plant diet to heal me and that included daily intake of cruciforous vegetables and I was able to get back to having a healthy thyroid, no medication needed.

raw vegan desserts?
I was put on medication and after going vegan, eating a whole foods
plant based
diet with lots of
raw kale,
raw broccoli, etc. (as well as cooked kale, broccoli, etc.), I was able to get off thyroid meds:)
Make sure to consume a well balanced
diet and use our
