It's especially important to include warming foods, herbs and spices during cleanses when you're consuming a lot of
raw vegetables through
salads, juices and smoothies, all of which are very cooling.
But for those of us who really feel our best when some
raw veg makes it's way down our gullet, I offer the following suggestions: Add a warm, cooked
vegetable to your
raw veg
salad.
Summer is a lovely time for
raw vegetable salads.

Instead, I gravitate towards lighter fare such as
salads, lightly cooked soups, oat porridge, green and superfood smoothies, fruit,
raw vegetables, small amounts of healthy fats (peanut butter, olives, coconut,
raw almond butter,
raw nuts and seeds, etc.), and more
raw entrees along with steamed
vegetables or the occasional roasted
vegetable, legume and grain dish.
Salads make such wonderful meals, they leave you feeling so good don't they packed with protein and healthy fats and fruit and
vegetables and leaves, all that
raw energy!
It's lovely as the acid component in any and all dressings and works nicely over
raw or cooked
vegetables as well as with rice and all grain - based
salads.

Overall, I'm currently still trying not to eat too many cruciferous
vegetables or large
salads to help Harper out with her digestion, but I did manage to sneak in one large
salad this week and lots of
raw and sauteed non-cruciferous veggies.
Add any crunchy
vegetables that you have; cabbage, snow peas,
raw beets (although you'll end up with a pink
salad but that's ok), and
raw sweet potato are all good choices.
It's a very versatile root
vegetable and I have enjoyed it

salads and cooked...
You could also simply have a balanced
salad full of dark leafy greens, 1/4 - 1/2 cup of whole grains, beans, roasted or
raw vegetables, and some hemp seeds.

They all pretty much mean the same thing and are usually a combination of
