When diet is your only strategy there is a limit to how
much fat you can lose, after which you
reach a
plateau.
At some point, even people who have developed a healthy eating lifestyle or whose nutrition does not deviate
much from healthy eating (i.e. eat the right foods, know how many calories are in each meal, eat a balanced diet of protein, carbs, and fat etc.) will
reach a fat loss
plateau.
After some time, you will again
reach a
plateau in regards to weight, but by then you should be bench pressing
much more weight than you ever could before.
Reaching a weight loss
plateau may be caused by several factors and you don't necessarily have to be eating too
much, in fact, you may discover that you haven't been eating enough.
(That said, if your MAF speed
plateaus somewhere between 7 and 6 minutes per mile, that's because you've probably
reached your highest aerobic potential, not because you're doing too
much anaerobic workouts).
Often times, when individuals
reach a
plateau they make
much larger adjustments than needed, particularly when the goal is weight loss.

I tend to believe librarians view research as a
much deeper process than many lawyers, and that many lawyers
reach a satisfactory research
plateau earlier than perhaps they could if they were doing really good research.
