Basically, you want to be in a niche where there are actual customers that are interested in the topic or topics you are writing about, otherwise nobody will read your blog.
As in, if they are interested in reading your blog, they very well might be interested in buying your products, programs, or services.
If you want to engage those customers who are not interested in sitting down and reading a blog post (especially when it's educational and not entertaining), videos are one way to reach this crowd.

So I mainly follow links on twitter now (and facebook to a lesser extent), following people who are good sources of the things I'm interested in, and trusting that the good quality articles will float to the top... When I want more things to read I turn to Google Reader, but normally end up just picking up on the few blogs I'm really interested in.

I simply read the belief blog to look for interesting comments and find it disappointing going the ever going (and rather simplistic) battle between fundamentalist people of faith and rather smug atheists going back and forth.
I already get well over 100 emails every single day, and I really don't want hundreds more... I don't mind getting emails from a few blogs that I really enjoy reading and which give me something in return for subscribing, but I simply can not read every post from every blogger I am interested in, and definitely don't need to be getting 500 emails a day....
This is one of the few blogs I read because it is one of the few blogs where people are interested in intelligent, considerate discussions instead of shouting each other down.
