I pretty much do the same things you do — light up the house (mostly with candles and a fire), get something hot to drink (tea, hot cider with cinnamon, or even hot water with lemon), put on some warm socks, settle by the fire with a blanket and watch the dreariness outside the windows (or read a good book!).
