i've commented on this before, but feel to say it again: your books are fantastic, great reads, but truly, it's how you do things that got
me reading fiction again.

To the best of my knowledge nothing I have written has spawned any manner of fan
fiction out there, but it's entirely possible I'm wrong because (
again) I don't
read fan
fiction.
Again, these self - publishing channels don't seem to be the go - to place for publishers to find contract - worthy literary
fiction and narrative nonfiction (the latter of which is Friedman's preferred
reading).
I'm not going to add $ 10 a month for books when 1) They are unlikely to offer the books I want to
read (largely nonfiction, and very selective non-
fiction) and 2) With work and school, I don't have time to
read $ 120 worth of
fiction a year (and I doubt I could find enough interesting
fiction to spend $ 120 year) and
again, they probably wouldn't include all the titles I'd be interested in.
These developments are progressive and exciting, and only time will tell if advances in ebooks will cause Poetry print sales to go the way of
Fiction categories —
again, this wouldn't mean that people aren't
reading; it would just mean they were
reading differently.
Ayesha Pande: My response here is based purely on anecdotal evidence: It seems readers of literary
fiction have a bias for print books; many readers tell me they want to keep the books, put them on their shelves,
read them
again and share them with others — none of which is possible with an e-book.
Again, like the last one, «Destroyer of Worlds» which is set in India, I had an Indian lady
read it who's a fan of my
fiction who lives in Mumbai and she was great.
