If you want a device that can
read library ebooks and do more things like play video, then don't get a Kindle, get something else.

read library ebooks on Kindle unless you remove the DRM, which is illegal.

Once you do, you'll be able to
read library eBooks on the Reader for the specified loan time.
You can even use it to
read library ebooks.
I assume that's what the original fonts option would be for (I'm too lazy to download, import, convert, and sideload everything anymore so I haven't used Calibre in a long time — mostly I just
read library ebooks lately because it's my opinion that 90 % of writers suck at writing so I have no interest in paying for most books).
