We went to the park, went to «coffee» each day, had a play date with a friend a few months younger than him (which he LOVED — someone who played WITH him, not telling him what to do every minute like his sister does), watched a movie of his choosing, ate what he asked for at dinner, built space stations and launch pads out of Legos for his Space Shuttle, and
read lots of books together.

This led to a
lot of criticism due to the fact that adults are thinking back to their own early
reading experiences and declaring their own attempts at learning to
read and beginning to love
books, then deciding that the way it all came
together for them must make it the best.
I
read about about a
book a week, which is a
lot less than many
book bloggers — but enough that characters and storylines start to blur
together, and at the end
of the year, it's not hard to determine which
books are far and away my favorites.
As someone who spends a
lot of time setting up other peoples computer equipment and devices to all sync and work
together I've never known one person to buy an iPad because they wanted to
read books.
The only other action figures I played with a
lot were the Ninja Turtles (when I was much younger) but I'd always put them in a spaceship (wheelbarrow) and move them to the other side
of the room so Splinter and I could
