Ebook Authors Take Charge,» Among other things, Coker noted that «If Amazon could invent a system to replace the author from the equation, they'd do that,» and went on to describe how one innovative publisher, ICON Group International has already patented a system that automatically generates non-fiction books, and he worries that as the field of artificial intelligence increases, «how long until novelists are disinter - mediated by machines.»
Ebooks published through the PubSoft system are distributed as epub files that can be
read on any device and any operating system.
On the one hand treating self -
publishing as unprofessional and somehow not quite acceptable, like a bastard child, as science fiction was for decades, yet at the same time
reading many self -
published ebooks looking for the next bit hit they can make a killing on.
In truth,
ebooks and self -
publishing have brought a whole new readership that hasn't replaced the number of people who
read books in the past — it has added enormously to the number of people who now
read regularly.
The bookshop and
reading room at 972 Fifth Avenue positions itself as New York's only French bookshop, and has brought books from some of France's best - known
publishing houses into its huge new catalog of
