think 2 different people could each
read the bible, koran or torah or any other religious based guidebook and depending
on what they have experienced in life come to 2 absolutely different opinions
on whether God exists or not.
Whether one agrees with his politics or
thinks he'd be a competent president is a different matter — but thank you for writing a great article
on religion and avoiding the attacking, degrading and slandering of other writers» approach, which - while probably provoking interest and getting many
reads - is simply disappointing and quite frankly hypocritical when it comes to religion.
If you were to sit around
reading the bible at a company like JPL, that is based
on type of
thinking that is in direct contrast to religious «faith», then I would
think it reasonable to seriously question
whether or not you were a good fit for that company.
Holiness for me was found in the mess and labour of giving birth, in birthday parties and community pools, in the battling sweetness of breastfeeding, in the repetition of cleaning, in the step of faith it took to go back to church again, in the hours of chatting that have to precede the real heart - to - heart talks, in the yelling at my kids sometimes, in the crying in restaurants with broken hearted friends, in the uncomfortable silences at our bible study when we're all weighing
whether or not to say what we really
think, in the arguments inherent to staying in love with each other, in the unwelcome number
on the scale, in the sounding out of vowels during bedtime book
reading, in the dust and stink and heat of a tent city in Port au Prince, in the beauty of a soccer game in the Haitian dust, in the listening to someone else's story, in the telling of my own brokenness, in the repentance, in the secret telling and the secret keeping, in the suffering and the mourning, in the late nights tending sick babies, in confronting fears, in the all of a life.
Like a blog, this house records a person's
thoughts,
whether those
thoughts are directed toward the author or toward the audience; as
on a blog, the recorded
thoughts are available for anyone to
read who happens to pass by.

I
think that most readers
on goodreads.com have wised up to this and I don't
think that those kind of negative reviews have much impact
on whether a person decides to
read a book or not.
I
think this book's appreciation largely depends
on the audience's experience listening to the Self Publishing Podcast,
whether or not they have
read The Dream Engine,
whether or not they are looking to do a Kickstarter campaign any time soon, and
whether or not they plan to utilize all the free (or paid) tools that expand upon this recounting of the Fiction Unboxed project.
It remains to be seen
whether it's focused
on those who like to
read and browse or those who spend more time watching movies and TV shows, but the Tab S4 is
on its way for sure, and it has gotten us
thinking just how many of our readers are actually interested in using a tablet or in upgrading to a new one when the right upgrade (which, again, the Tab S4 may or may not be, depending
on your current device) comes along.
I don't even
think twice now
whether I can only
read this book
on that platform.
