Though the screen sizes on Android Smartphones are certainly
smaller than that of the Kindle, the ability to increase
font sizes make
reading easy on the eye.
Even so, it should be obvious, and I tried this out on a 9 year old this week, new generations, those whose eyesight will not deteriorate for a long time to come, those people can
read prints I can't even
read with my

Personally I've never considered ereaders with 212 ppi to be a problem (not once have I found myself ever thinking while
reading that the text is hard to
read and needs to be sharper, but then again I don't use
small font sizes).
A pinch gesture while
reading lets you make
fonts smaller and bigger on the fly, and resizing a book only takes a second or two.
The default size
fonts will look
smaller, but sharper and what's great is you can display two 8 1/2 by 11 inch pages side by side and
read them (in landscape mode of course).

The Extra-small
font reminded me of the
smallest size on my optician's
reading - glasses test; and at the opposite extreme, Extra-large permitted only a few letters of the first word on the page to appear.
