reader donations to fund the development of books.

to submit their own request
to be considered for a
donation from the Kindle Reading
Fund.
The two somewhat similar companies, PubSlush and LeanPub, began offering a platform solely based on the idea that authors could reach out
to potential
readers while the book is still in the process of being written and accept
funding to help cover the costs associated with publishing the book; around this same time, Wattpad rolled out a limited pilot program that worked with six authors
to fund their titles through
reader donations.
