We journalists tend to focus on exam
results because so many of our
readers say that is what they
want, and such information is relatively easy to
get from regular public schools.
If you
want to tell your personal story, ensure its success by tying your story into how - to steps your
reader can take to change his or her life.For example, if you're writing your story about surviving cancer, focus on a specific type of cancer (narrow your niche) and specifically tell
readers how they can
get the same
results you did and how you
got through it.
It's mostly about
getting something on YouTube: you
want some kind of content on all the major websites (YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, SlideShare...) pointing back to your book so that you can connect with new
readers in as many ways as possible (plus it helps your own website shows up in
results faster).
I didn't
want to see them frustrated, disappointed and feeling like failures when their efforts
resulted in books that never
got noticed by the
readers they
wanted to reach.

want to recommend sites that I should be adding, I am open to suggestions (it is fairly easy to tell if a site is not included — simply go to a site directly and find some unique phrase on that site and then search on that phrase on my search engine and if you do not
get a
result, the site is not likely included).
