We often obsess about the subject line, trying to figure out what will entice
readers to

email.
If the subject is the same as the headline,
readers may not
open the
email, because they think they've seen it all — or they won't read on once they see the headline is just a repeat of the subject.

email newsletter subscribers spend, on average, about 51 seconds scanning an
email newsletter they have just
opened, you don't have much time to attract
readers» attention.

Our Best Practice Tip: Include the cover letter in the body of the
email so that it is the first thing the
reader sees when
opening up the
email that has your resume attached.
Remember that, when you
email your digital resume, the
reader could
open up and view your document on their PDA... that's a very small screen.
One thing I would add, to increase the likelihood that your
reader will actually
open and read your cover letter, is to have an abbreviated, concise «version» of your cover letter in the
email body.
