readiness then why don't any four - year colleges accept the results for admissions purposes in lieu
of SAT or ACT
scores?
We know that the New York State Education Department used SAT
scores of 560 in Reading, 540 in Writing and 530 in mathematics, as the college
readiness benchmarks to help set the «passing» cut
scores on the 3 - 8 New York State exams.

scoring at the college - and career - ready level on Smarter Balanced, ACT or SAT, career
readiness certificate or completion
of a 12th grade transition course.
The truth is that after realizing that student grades are a better indicator
of college
readiness than standardized tests, hundreds and hundreds
of colleges and universities in the United States are dropping the requirement that students even provide an SAT
score with their application.
