For many teachers, this routine (
reading circles, math talks, guided
reading, math reasoning activities, problem solving tasks) remains their focus throughout the year as they refine their instruction to better fit their students» needs.
Literature
Circles are a fun and effective way to get kids excited about
reading, and they are aligned with Common Core State Standards
for Speaking and Listening.
For instance, homework
reading typically will fit in this category, and even required
reading during the school day may take place in a range of classroom and school locales (e.g., at the
reading circle, in one's desk, in the library corner, in the school library).

There's been a trend in library
circles lately to focus on encouraging community content creation and building local collections, so authors might stand a chance at getting their book added to libraries in their local area, especially if they offer to do a
reading or similar library program
for free.
Similarly, if there's someone in your
circle of associates who volunteers to beta
read, but they have a reputation
for being unreliable, then don't count on them to be your only beta reader.
