Reading craft books and listening to smart writers talk about craft stirs my brain and spurs creative solutions to problems of character and plot.
I started
reading craft books, going to classes, LISTENING to those who might know something more than me.
Now
I read craft books more for the insight they give me into SOMEONE ELSE»S creative process than for the possibility they might influence my own.
When I was writing my first novel,
I read every craft book I could find, including two of yours.

book at a local Chapters and have a chance to do a
craft for the momstown Monet program of momstown KW.
Between a no - pressure, open membership series of
book clubs, community events such as a feminist
crafting circle, and poetry and
book readings from authors big and small (Anne Lamott, anyone?)
Luckily their favorite is
reading books and drawing, and I think we are just getting new
craft supplies next time we are shopping for toys.
Encourage your typically developing child to
read books to his or her sibling, build block towers together, and do
craft activities with fingerpaint or clay.

This month's Virtual
Book Club for Kids chosen author is Eric Carle and the co-hosts are featuring activities and
craft to do with 3 of his
books The Very Hungry Caterpillar, The Tiny Seed, The Mixed - Up Chameleon [affiliate links] and we've chosen The Very Hungry Caterpillar and are going to work on a combination of sight words and fine motor skills learning to
read the days of the week.
A really simple
craft for kids for after
reading the
book in springtime is this Cress Caterpillar — a mixture of a
craft and some simple science for toddlers and preschoolers to see how plants grow.

Crafting are one of our favorite activities.
Get creative and make this cardboard tube caterpillar that turns into a butterfly a perfect

It's also one of the
