This is what a comprehensive contextual
reading of Scripture leads to, instead of having to balance apparently contradictory texts against each other when they are plucked out as «proof texts.»
But not only does
my reading of scripture lead me to a different conclusion, where there is uncertainty about such a situation, the safer position is to consider the possibility that renouncing Christ will result in you losing your life and forfeiting your promise of salvation, and determine before hand that you will never renounce Christ even should people threaten you or your families life with death or torture.

reading... this guy is a wolf in sheep's clothing
leading millions to an eternity in hell... the prosperity gospel he teaches is contrary to the teachings
of Christ... Christ talked about abundance in life but he was speaking
of spiritual abundance not material things...
Scripture and Christ said in this life you will have trouble... Christ suffered in this life as did each
of his Apostles... open your eyes before it is too late for you.

lead me to better understand something about my walk with Him... but just

If our critical
readings lead us away from trusting the grace
of God in Jesus Christ, then something is amiss, and we would do well to interrogate the methods and presuppositions that have taught us to distance ourselves arrogantly or fearfully from the text and to miss

leading Bible scholars laboring prayerfully for seven years to assure the accuracy and readability»
of Scripture, to General George F. Patton's habit
of reading the book «every goddamned day.»
For example, if you don't feel comfortable
leading an emotional prayer time, ask if you could instead
read and briefly explain a passage
of Scripture which is relevant to the topic at hand.
This way
of reading Scripture often
leads to atrocities.
If our
reading, studying, and teaching
of Scripture is not
leading us to look, act, and love more like Jesus, then we are not properly understanding or
reading the
Scriptures and should probably just put them away for a while until we learn to love others more like Jesus.
A simple
reading of the
Scriptures and Fathers may
lead some to conclude that all return on a loan was condemned.
So my children
lead worship right alongside
of the grown - ups, and their mama
reads Scripture right alongside
of the men, and their dad is the one who willingly gave up his own time in the
lead, for the joy
of giving his most - loved - ones a chance to worship out loud, too.
They may not qualify to be part
of a minyan elsewhere, but here they have prestigious roles,
reading from the Torah scroll, parading it around to be kissed, chanting
scripture in Hebrew, blessing children,
leading music, preaching.

leading of the Holy Spirit through the words
of Scripture so that all
of the Bible points to the WORD, that is, Jesus Christ.
