One of the best ways to move beyond assigning all reading is for teachers to provide time in the academic day for voluntary
reading of texts for extended periods of time.
In your grade - level team, discuss how you would approach a close
reading of a text in each category.
This is a topic likely to attract editorial attention, but a closer
reading of the text reveals that highlighted risk is only speculation about a physical possibility.
Reading While Listening involves practicing reading while listening to a proficient reader (or an audio recording) of a
fluent reading of the text and pointing at the words.
Students need to engage in repeated and
purposeful reading of text and to listen to text being read well while they follow along actively in the text.
Year 2 is designed to extend analytical thinking skills through
close reading of texts, oral commentary and analytical essay writing.
I say that the early post-Vatican II years were «Father - deprived» and not «Father-less,» because the Catholic Church in her official teaching never abandoned or rejected the wisdom of the Fathers, as even a cursory
reading of the texts of Vatican II will illustrate.
It is to show the reader — especially those who are aware of the cosmic warfare elements of this passage — that something might be going on behind the scenes which a quick surface - level
reading of the text does not initially reveal.
Having your students do

But I wanted to share these initial thoughts because I think it's important to remind ourselves now and then that we've been wrong before, and that sometimes it's not about the number of proof texts we can line up or about the most
simplistic reading of the text, but rather some deep, intrinsic sense of right and wrong, some movement of the Spirit, that points us toward truth and to a better understanding of what Scripture really says.

plain reading of the text» is the only way to get to that conclusion.
Third and
fourth reads of the text have proven to be useful in understanding the «downfall» of the early church; roots of error and departure from NT expectations for a local assembly that have bloomed into flowers with an unpleasant aroma that must be a stench in the nostrils of God.
Considerations such as these invite us to offer an
innocuous reading of our text, but to state such an interpretation indicates that we are on the wrong course.
But if the purpose of my images is not to
impede reading of the text, but is instead to aid the reader to do his own thinking more confidently in images (I think he does it anyhow), then might not the pictorial gain be offset by apparently not appealing to the reader's imagination?
Resistance to a
psychological reading of the text may be due to our desire not to be forced to see those transformative challenges from God, signals that we are on the wrong track, intimations that if we really dared to trust the divine caring, our lives would be fuller, richer and more truly human, if also fearfully shaken loose from the self - image to which we cling so desperately.
There are hundreds, if not thousands, of Protestant sects of Christianity, many contradict each other and each says they have the «right» reading; many of these teach that women should not hold power based on
direct readings of the text.
