There's no shortage
of museums inviting visitors to create in their
galleries, but often times the
gallery wall is a sacred
space reserved for «

The use
of the mannequin is widespread among the artists throughout these last two decades: these hyper -
real, isolated figures inhabit the
gallery's
space like usual dwellers, but some
of them can catch the attention more than others.
Aaron Curry's latest project with the
gallery raises to a new level
of complexity the artist's exploration
of relationships between drawing and form, abstraction and figuration, and
spaces both
real and virtual.

The exhibition
space of the
gallery, two stair steps upon Eldridge Street, represents though a
real window to the future in which experimentation and consolidated art coexist, bound by a deep research about the forces that rules our world.
This combination
of natural elements with mechanical moving parts and simulated surfaces creates a hyper -
real theatre
of spectacle within the
gallery space.
Coinciding with Frieze 2014, Neil Beloufa will take over the Lower
Gallery and Theatre
spaces to show a selection
of installations in combination with a series
of moving image works, which explore the blurring
of narrative, make - believe and truth that underpin the representation
of real - world events.
A stretched and compressed view
of the artist's Brooklyn apartment dominates the rear
space of the
gallery, morphing the
real and the imaginary.
The
gallery space thus becomes a washing drum or tornado, a rotating column
of air or tumbleweed, leaving a basic or empty structure where new meanings can become
real.
It is a static capture
of the laminar flow
of time on the
gallery wall, which may turn in
real space into a mountain, valley, rock lake, or desert.
