really want
to make a run at
bookstores,
go to CreateSpace for only Amazon, then move the same book file
to IngramSpark
to get into the Ingrams catalogs and such with better discounts.
When I was little I had
to desperately wait
to go to the library or see what books my dad's coworkers would give him for me since we couldn't
really afford
to go to the
bookstore.
It's
really scary
to think that I covered the bankruptcy of one major
bookstore chain last year and
to wonder if I'm
going to be doing the same thing next year, in a couple of years from now?
However, just as the music industry managed
to destroy itself fighting the advance of new technology, I'm
really concerned that the big
bookstore chains and publishers are
going to fight this model.
Which means you
really can fine - tune where it's
going to be «shelved», in either a digital
bookstore or physical building.
Because if that happens and 10 percent of the world
goes digital, that's
going to be
really hard for all the
bookstores to sustain their business model
