Sead, who I'm including in this category because of our present formation, looks like a positive addition, minus his occasional brain farts, but I would rather see what he could do in a back 4 before making my mind up... Ox, who has never played better, which isn't saying much considering his largely underwhelming play in previous seasons, seems to have found a home in this new formation; unfortunately, can we really expect this oft - injured player to handle the taxing duties that come with said position over the long haul, not to mention, it looks like he has no intention of staying... Ramsey has relied on the empathy that stems from his gruesome injury years ago and the excitement that was generated a few years back when he finally seemed to put in altogether, but on the whole he has been a big disappointment (neither he nor the Ox have scored enough to warrant a regular spot)... Wiltshire should be put on a weekly contract then played until he suffers his first injury, if and when that occurs he should be shipped - out and no one should very be allowed to say his name on club grounds ever again... Elnehy & Coq are average players who couldn't make any of the top 7 teams currently in the EPL... both have showed some great energy on the pitch, but neither are top quality and no good team can afford to have that many average players on their bench playing the same position, especially with Coq's injury history / discipline concerns and Elheny's headless chicken tendencies... as for Xhaka, his tenure here so far has been incredibly underwhelming... we know he has some skills to provide the long ball but his defensive work is piss poor and he gives the ball away too cheaply and far too often... finally, the enigma himself, Ozil, so much skill with his left foot but his presence has been more frustrating than uplifting... in many respects his failure has been directly related to the failure of this club to provide him with the necessary players up front, minus Sanchez of course, and unless something drastic happens very soon his legacy will be largely a negative one (much like Wenger's)

I understand the logic behind your thinking and I agree, this could be lethal, but it then means wilshere ramsey flamini and arteta are bench players or have to be sold because none of them can operate as the sole midfielder in front of our back four, arteta is probably the most well rounded for this but against better opposition I don't think he has the physique or pace to really command that area, he has the intelligence to read the game but without the other attributes he can only do so much.
given that 33 % of our 24 or so players are going to be injured every season, if we get 2 really good players at the start of the season, one of them will only be sitting / moaning on the bench for 6 - 12 weeks at the start of the season.
Your comments are very naive and idiotic.Even if he had a limited budget at that time it's not as if every player would cost him a fortune. Also it's not about the limited budget that makes him support his players to perform. It's his philiosophy.Even till this day he tends to support and persist with his players to bring out the best in them.If you think I don't know what am saying wait till they get fit.On Giroud if we are to be honest he should have been dropped long ago even in his second season. It was never rocket science to know that the guy ws not starter quality.Tell me which team would have persisted with Giroud as a starter more than Arsenal. He failed long ago and was really really benched like just last season. As for Szcz Wenger also did persist with him during the times he still wasn't performing.I hope people won't deny this.He persisted till he could take no more of it.That was the reason why he brought Ospina into the starting 11.

Nice to say our wise and great leader writer but whether it translates on the pitch is another matter altogether. The problems in arsenal honestly is more than 2 signings however those two signings are coming to the position where we need them the most so we will take it so.But is he really going to do that as from his actions it implies we do not need a new dmf but for a striker i think it crosses his mind at times. He just needs to do the right its like he has lost control or something.I just do not get him again.Imagine dropping Ox who is currently our most effective and best player right now as he is in form. Then he puts Gabriel on the bench for who.He is kidding. He then keeps players who should be released or sold and plays them. This is nonsense.

Yea it's a really good squad... but what we need now is proper management of these players... fr xample not getting carried away by giroud brace n stick to bringing him from the bench n continue Alexis as false9.
As it stands, this squad is fairly well positioned to compete for the Wenger Cup and make a deep run in the Europa, if and only if we play first stringers in Europe and use the bench for the League and FA Cups... that being said, and based on the fragility of the manager and the team in recent campaigns, it's more likely that Wenger will focus on a top 4 finish and the FA Cup... while the reasons for such an approach may appear logical, it would confirm a rather disturbing trend and appear counter intuitive for any team which claims to have higher aspirations... I feel that Wenger simply can't afford to put all his eggs in the Europa basket because if he fails the potential backlash could cripple any top 4 chances due to the aforementioned fragile psyche that tends to rear it's ugly head like our own personal groundhog day each and every February... furthermore, can you even imagine Wenger bringing in the necessary recruits to adequately supply top quality lineups in a Thursday / Sunday dominated schedule; based on everything I've seen in recent years, I can't see that happening... in fact, mark my words, it's more likely that we see Lacazette playing out wide in Alexis's position with Giroud at striker, than we see Wenger make the necessary moves to right this ship... god, I hope I'm wrong but is it really that far - fetched considering what we've witnessed for past several years
You'd really have to ask yourself if he'd still be here if he wasn't French.Wenger has every right to sell Giroud. If we were very ambitious we would've sold him long ago. We're treating him as if he's a crucial player. The lesson will only be learnt when Lacazette goes out with a long term injury. We will then see how good the back ups are.To me he's not a super sub as he's the kind of striker who requires service.Being a super sub is not enough because remember he's the next in line if anything happens to Lacazette.Giroud was Arsenal's main striker for a reason.Last season 99 % of the matches he scored coming of the bench were matches he should have started to give us that aerial presence but Wenger shockingly started Sanchez. It's a shame fans will blame him next season again for his short comings. The guy is just not good. It's not good enough to be strong in aerial battles alone and weak in almost every other aspect.I expect Arsenal and Arsene to do better. He must be sold.
I really feel for him.He was treated without respect I remember saying here that our season also depended on him because we knew Welbeck and Giroud were not good enough. However, he came and didn't really impress in the CF role but impressed on the wing but I felt he would've done very well in the Ozil role earlier in the season. He used to be an AMF for Deportivo but they changed him to a CF.This is why I believe he shouldn't have been signed in the first place. It was poor business from Arsenal to sign him because we needed a typical killer CF.Lucas is a more of a No. 10 style kind of player as he played there for Deportivo prior to the season where he played CF.If you look at his style of play you can see that he's not your typical CF.think Wenger benched him because he didn't solve our CF problem but I guess it's not Lucas» fault.
Agree he was playing really well at the start of the season but was benched due to Mert and Kos.
So when Wentz went down, after my 3 days of mourning, I was talking with my friends about how Foles is probably the 1 guy I'd want to come off the bench because when he's hot there may not be a better QB playing that day but when he's not he can really hurt you.
I felt really bad at seen lacazette on the bench, playing lacazette with ozil and Sanchez would have sent shivers in the spine of man city but he chose to make things so easy for the city team who on a good day I can't say can beat arsenal.
the more i think about it, the more i like the theo up front: lets shake things up a bit; give giroud a rest [he was really good coming off the bench anyway so bring him on min 60] the # 1 thing we can not do is be caught on the break.
I really hope McKinnon makes the squad though, he's had a pretty good preseason and I like him better than Williams, he'd be a great # 5 option off the bench and on kick / punt returns..
