As far as games go, I'm really into the fantasy / sci - fi action stuff (Skyrim, Warframe, etc.) as well as various fighting games.
What I really liked about this game is that even if it is a First Person Shooter (Well for me it's a First person Adventure) it is still faithful to the Metroid formula, I liked the puzzles, the enjoyable boss battles and the easy fights.
Combine that with an average fighting game and... well, to be honest, I'm not sure if it's enough to make Skullgirls worth a recommendation, unless you're either really into fighting games, or really into seeing an aesthetic that doesn't get nearly enough representation in games.

I for one really like this move, there was never anything really wrong with the Street Fighter II fighting style, and games to this day have tried mimicking, so keeping with what works seems like a good choice when it comes to Street Fighter IV.

Also Art of Fighting 3 is orders of magnitude better than its prequels and is one of SNK's best looking games, and a really solid fighter in its own right.

Pacific Rim is an interesting fighting game that has potential to be really just as good as the movie, but due to some repeated mistakes and poor choices in controls the game falls a bit short and ends up being lost in the shuffle of this new strategy on releasing movie games into a digital distribution.
