The storyline of Dungeons of Chaos is a pretty simple one, which
really hearkens back to the old Rouge - like games.
The story is another aspect where The Evil Within
really hearkens back to Mikami's Resident Evil roots.

really hope they use ALBW (it cut a lot of the hand holding and openeded up the world for exploration - freedom to go anywhere from the onset, temples out of order etc.) as a frame work, and even
hearken back to the original NES game - i.e. let me get lost in the fifth temple and destroyed by late game enemies after ten minutes of play.
KJ: Even as we become completely overcome with technology, we'll always
hearken back to the past, and think fondly of simpler times, and the silhouette
really captures and reflects that.
