Holiness for me was found
in the mess and labour of giving birth,
in birthday parties and community pools,
in the battling sweetness of breastfeeding,
in the repetition of cleaning,
in the step of faith it took to go back to church again,
in the hours of chatting that have to precede the real heart - to - heart talks,
in the yelling at my kids sometimes,
in the crying
in restaurants with broken hearted friends,
in the uncomfortable silences at our bible study when we're all weighing whether or not to say what we
really think,
in the arguments inherent to staying
in love with each other,
in the unwelcome number on the scale,
in the sounding out of vowels during bedtime book reading,
in the dust and stink and heat of a tent city
in Port au Prince,
in the beauty of a soccer game
in the Haitian dust,
in the listening to someone else's story,
in the telling of my own brokenness,
in the repentance,
in the secret telling and the secret keeping,
in the suffering and the mourning,
in the late nights tending sick babies,
in confronting fears,
in the all of a
life.

really is and who we are
in Christ, your post is deleted... Jesus is alive and real, the bible is true, and we all

By «God» I mean the pervasive personal presence, distinct from me and prior to me, who is the source and support of my existence; who through Scripture makes me realize that he has towards me the nature and name of
love - holy, lordly, costly, fatherly, redeeming
love; who addresses me,
really though indirectly,
in all that Scripture shows of his relationship to human beings
in history, and especially
in the recorded utterances of his Son, Jesus Christ; and who is daily drawing me towards a face - to - face encounter and consummated communion with him beyond this
life, by virtue of «the redemption which is
in Christ Jesus» (Rom.

love for God and one another is
lived in a way so real and so powerful that they become a transformational presence
in their community.
However irreproachably I
lived as a monk, I felt myself
in the presence of God to be a sinner with a most unquiet conscience... I did not
love, indeed I hated this just God... I raged with a fierce and most agitated conscience and yet I continued to knock away at Paul
in this place, thirsting ardently to know what he
really meant... At last I began to understand the justice of God as that by which the just man
lives by the gift of God, that is to say by faith... At this I felt myself to have been born again and to have entered through open gates into paradise itself.6

Craig i thought what you wrote was
really good and agree with you.Enduring to the end is not that the person hasnt already received eternal
life by faith
in Jesus Christ as once done that is a done deal.Enduring to the end is to encourage those who are persecuted to keep believing
in Christ and do nt lose there faith and trust
in God and to be strong
in the faith.
In doing so they will get there reward from the Lord because they trusted him more than the fear of death. They overcame them there persecuters with

So the law of
love which is the requirement of community is a law which can be formally stated as a principle of action; but community must be experienced
in life before we can
really say we know what it is.
For Karl Barth man always appears to remain on the knife edge between the
love of God and the abyss of damnation.24 Reinhold Niebuhr holds that we are redeemed from sin
in principle, but whether we are redeemed
in fact is not made clear.25 Christ, he says, is our hope, not our possession.26 And again he suggests that only
in the moment of prayer can man
really love God and his neighbor with the
love which Christ has shown to us.27 Emil Brunner comes closer to positive affirmation of the new
life of the man to whom the
love of God has come with power.

Much of the time for a few of us, and perhaps a little of the time for all of us, the self that we need to lose
really is a «rebel» self that refuses to commit itself to
live with God and neighbor
in love and insists on reorganizing the cosmos as though the self were God.
Tim i found it liberating to just do what the Lord wants you to do i work within his boundarys and yes i attend church and enjoy it.I
love the people and i
love hearing the word and worshipping the Lord even if others are still bound up with traditions thats not my walk thats theres. My focus is to do what the Lord wants me to do.There have been times i have said no to the pastor he does nt understand why i choose not to lead the worship.i query him as well regarding the idea that its not just performing a function because there is a need our hearts have to be
in the right place so that the Lord can use us but he did nt understand where i was coming from and thats okay because of that i just said no until my heart is right i am better not being involved
in leading. But i am happy to be an encouragement to others
in the worship team i havent wanted to be the leader i have done that
in the past.So my focus has been just the singing and being part of different worship teams i think the Lord has other plans as the groups i am
in seem to be changing at the same time i am aware that i do nt to worry about change as the Lord knows whats best.I used to be quite comfortable leading the music but that was before when i was operating
in my own self confidence and pride. The Lord did such a huge change
in my
life that i lost my self confidence and that is not a bad thing at all as my spiritual growth has been incredible. The big change was my identity moved from me and what i could do to knowing who i was
in Christ and that he is my strength and confidence. Now i know that without him i can do nothing
in fact i am dependent on his empowerment through his holy spirit all the time
in everything.
In the weekend i was asked to lead the music at another church i attend multiple churchs although i attend two regularly one has services
in the morning and one has services
in the evening so the two do nt
really clash.
In the weekend i was asked to lead the music its been two years since i did that and i was worried on how i would go.All i can say is that it went
really well and because i stepped out
in Faith the Lord
really blessed the morning to the congregation. The difference is knowing that i serve the Lord with the gifts he has given me but my heart has to be right and when i do it
in his way it builds up the body and it brings glory to him.May the Lord continue to show you what he wants you to do even though others may not understand your reasons i just want you to know that you do nt have to pull away completely just work within the boundarys that the Lord gives you and do nt feel pressured by others expectations to do anything that feel uncomfortable.Be involved just as you feel lead by the holy spirit even if it is
in a very minor way take small steps.regards brentnz
As Helen muses on the whole experience, on the ups and downs, and now watching the wriggling, laughing
life in front of her, she says: «I've learnt overwhelmingly how much God
loves us, and that he
really does want to intervene dramatically
in our
lives,» she pauses.
I long to
Love, I long to offer grace, particularly to those struggling under their own new Laws, I long to worship, I'd rather write a better story than a point - by - point defense, and I long to

Either American democracy is
living on social capital inherited from an earlier time when Americans shared a common perspective on
life's questions,
in which case we face a slow descent into the fragmented and violent world Hauerwas sees; or else the enthusiastic, individualistic and yet genuinely
loving piety of Emerson, Whitman and Ellison has a better grasp of our human nature, and it
really is possible to be both democratic and virtuous.
When
really, the mature Christians (who are more aware of their sin then others and
in turn need God's grace even more) instead of investing
in making church to appear like their own
lives will naturally appear to most because of their relationship with God is more... advanced... should invest
in mentoring and
loving those newer
in their faith and being real and honest with them.
It is important to recognize too, that he does not
love «some future version of us» as if he «kind of»
loves us now, but if we would only fix A, B, C and change D, E, and F
in our
lives, THEN he would
REALLY love us.
