The balance and depth in the game is astonishing, and even the
odd characters have their distinct charms... What's
really a shame here is that the developer didn't manage to find a way to supplement the core experience with extras that would extend the life of the game by adding some variety to the package.
Its
odd to see William Holden this young even if his
character doesn't
really leave you caring what happens to him.
It's an
odd movie to say the least and the actors
really pulled their
characters off well.
This is one of those films that is enjoyable because it's so
odd that we don't
really know what's going to happen next, or what any of the crazy
characters are going to have coming out of their mouths at any given time.
Winstead has had a bit of an
odd trajectory in her career, going from thin supporting parts in big dumb studio movies to a huge indie breakout with her magnificent performance in Smashed a few years ago that she unfortunately didn't
really capitalize on afterwards, but here she gets the best of both worlds by developing a kickass
character we can root for in a thrilling genre piece that also has some depth to her.
It's amazing to see just how far Pixar have come as a studio when you look back a the lifeless eyes and
odd - looking faces of Toy Story to the «you - won't - believe - it's - animated» waterfalls and landscapes here.The designs of our lead
characters are sublime too, and
really do help carry some of the emotional weight.
There's no master recipe list so you're left to experiment every single time, and there
really isn't much of a need to do it at all because the
odd quests that you get from
characters don't often ask for items that need to be synthesized.
Riptide occupies that rather
odd place in videogames — it's not an expansion, not
really a full - ledged sequel, it's not
really a spin - off either as it involves all the
characters and events of the original game — it just IS.
What it amounted to at the moment is a lot of waggling and the controls for the movements felt
really loose and jarring, with
characters moving a bit too fast and at
odd angles.

odd balls: Rick (splatterhouse), Gabe Logan (Syphon Filter), Squall (FF8), Laharl and Baal (Disgaea), Optimus Prime, A Gundam, Tales Of
Characters (whoever
really) and Justin from GRANDIA!
Even the voice - acting,
characters and the narrative are actually okay (well, except a
really odd, forced moment at the beginning involving a friend signing you up on your phone to a website filled with videos of people dying).
