When your pet is anesthetized, we will check their gums and teeth for abnormally deep pockets,
receding gum lines, swollen gums, loose teeth, cavities, etc..
Not exact matches
The
gums are
receding because they are attached to the bone, which is being dissolved by the «war» between the white blood cells and the bacteria growing in the plaque beneath the
gum line.
Bacteria in the mouth causes
gum inflammation and the
gum line to
recede with corresponding breakdown of supporting bone.
If their
gums are red, swollen, or
receding from the
gum -
line, then you should have a vet look at your dog's teeth.
They will also check for color changes of the
gums, bleeding, swelling, and gingival recession (when the periodontal
line recedes from the tooth).
