Although the racing engine
receives upgraded turbos, larger
fuel capacity, and a racing - spec engine oil system, it shares the same aluminum block and heads, direct -
injection system, gaskets,
electronic throttle body, and valve springs with the production version.
In January 1986, the AM V8, Volante and Lagonda
received the Weber
electronic fuel injection system to replace the carburettors in an effort to reduce emissions and
fuel consumption.
