Continuing his research on
the recent history of architecture, the industrial sanitization of materials and the intimate, domestic vulnerabilities of inhabitants of particular urban spaces, Burr has created this outdoor public installation comprised of 18 dark steel structures in an intricate spatial arrangement throughout SCAD Museum of Art Ruins.
This exhibition creates a visual landscape in which formal elements are a medium to address larger concerns in
the recent history of architecture.

Opie's narrative is specific to Los Angeles as it focuses on L.A.'s rich
history of modernist
architecture as well as the
recent onslaught
of political and natural disasters, such as fires and floods that have dominated the news.
Like much
of Gaillard's work, the film is a meditation on the ways in which traumatic events
of recent history can be read in — or have been memorialised by — urban or «natural» landscapes,
architecture and public space.
Based on the historical work
of Brazilian artist Athos Bulcão, the work reflects upon an important artist in Brazil's
recent history and discusses modernist
architecture and its utopias as a means
of transforming Brazilian society.

recent years by Robert Gober, Fred Wilson, and Matthew Barney In
architecture, dozens
of different building types are illustrated and discussed, from the earliest colonial houses and churches to the most spectacular modernist and postmodernist houses, stations, museums, and iconic skyscrapers.
