In 2012, however, Muller concluded that «humans are almost entirely the cause» of
recent planetary warming.

Here we show that the
recent warming in this region is strongly associated with a negative trend in the North Atlantic Oscillation, which is a response to anomalous [natural] Rossby wave - train activity [
planetary waves related to the Earth's rotation] originating in the tropical Pacific.
Very
recent, wide ranging review of temperature measurements in the oceans with a detailed discussion of the accuracy of the data,
planetary energy balance and the effect of the
warming on sea levels.
I have an article running in The Times on
recent vagaries in
planetary temperature, which almost all scientific experts on global
warming describe as a brief and normal hiatus from the long - term
warming driven by greenhouse gases.
From Rasmussen Reports Voters in
recent months have been increasingly skeptical of the idea that global
warming is chiefly caused by human activity, but the number who blame long term
planetary trends instead has now fallen back to its lowest level in nearly a year.
154 Australian scientists demand climate policy that matches the science «While the Paris Agreement remains unbinding and global
warming has received minimal attention in the
recent elections, governments worldwide are presiding over a large - scale demise of the
planetary ecosystems, which threatens to leave large parts of Earth uninhabitable.

recent warming using instrumentally homogeneous sea surface temperature records» «Tracking ocean heat uptake during the surface
warming hiatus» «A review of global ocean temperature observations: Implications for ocean heat content estimates and climate change» «Unabated
planetary warming and its ocean structure since 2006»
We conclude that background global
warming is continuing, consistent with the known
planetary energy imbalance, even though it is likely that the slowdown in climate forcing growth rate contributed to the
recent apparent standstill in global temperature.
Ding et al., 2014 http://www.nature.com/nature/journal/v509/n7499/full/nature13260.html «Here we show that the
recent warming in this region [northeastern Canada and Greenland] is strongly associated with a negative trend in the North Atlantic Oscillation, which is a response to anomalous Rossby wave - train activity [
planetary waves related to the Earth's rotation] originating in the tropical Pacific.
The key science question for citizens and their representatives is not whether most
recent warming is man - made but whether climate change, as Al Gore HAS put it, is a «
planetary emergency... that threatens the survival of civilization and the habitability of the Earth.»
Recent assessments of all data sources has now made clear that not only was there never any «hiatus» in the rising temperatures, the
planetary warming is actually accelerating rapidly.

warming that has been observed over
recent years on many of the
planetary bodies in the solar system.
Tristan @ 22, seeing you ask, we have this from a
recent, paywalled article, Unabated
planetary warming and its ocean structure since 2006:
1) Latitudinal temperature anomaly paradox (Strike 1) The latitudinal temperature anomaly paradox is the fact that the latitudinal pattern of
warming in the last 50 years does match the pattern of
warming that would occur if the
recent increase in
planetary temperature was caused by the CO2 mechanism.
It seems to me in the last year / few years we are seeing more papers shed light on «new» positive feedback mechanisms coming into play on the
planetary scale, whether it is the MacDougall paper mentioned in the article, or the
recent paper on
warmer and higher vapor pressure vegetation and trees losing water to a
warmer atmosphere, or many others.
