The field of live - cell imaging has expanded greatly in
recent years, but still faces many challenges, such as how to improve spatial and
temporal resolution as well as how to keep cells healthy for extended periods of time.
This product is consistent with broad current knowledge about the surface sources and sinks of CO2, CH4 and N2O, but, to our knowledge, it is unique in its combination of
temporal coverage, spatial
resolution and inclusion of
recent measurements.
A
recent study quantified the effects of spatial and
temporal sampling
resolution on diffusive and ebullitive CH4 emission estimates from 3 shallow boreal lakes and found that low sampling coverage is more likely to lead to underestimates of flux than overestimates (72 % chance of flux underestimation when bubble trap sampling is limited to 1 — 3 days; Wik et al. 2016).
Several
recent method developments improve the spatial and / or
temporal resolution of CH4 ebullition measurements in lakes and reservoirs.
Someone is still up to the old, discredited trick of splicing
recent instrumental data giving high
temporal resolution with together with paleodata of low
temporal resolution.
The Vostock ice core data can not resolve the issue of what has caused the
recent increase to atmospheric CO2 concentration because its
temporal resolution is too low.
The historical to
recent centuries of the model are strongly constrained to agree with the 400 - year historical model gufm1 by Jackson et al. (2000), and consequently spatial and
temporal resolution increase drastically for this time interval.
