I've made lots
of Ella's
recipes and I've absolutely loved all (except for the cacao oatmeal cookies which I found super bland), and I quitted sugar and wheat almost 5 months ago so my taste buds are used to this
kind of cooking, so I figured I should give them a try.
What a wonderful idea — as you know I am all for any invention which makes
cooking easy peasy — this is definitely my
kind of recipe!!
I know, what
kind of half - assed blogger am I that only wants easy and no -
cooking recipes?
They make all
kinds of oats, but the oats that I used are quick -
cook oats which are great to use in overnight oat
recipes since they turn out really thick and creamy (not too chewy).
The
recipe was super easy to follow whilst still feeling like a
kind of elaborate dish (maybe I'm just used to
cooking simpler things) All ingredients were easy to find in the local supermarket and we had a few things already stocked in the pantry, which made it slightly easier!
One pot pasta dishes have a
kind of heavy texture compared to when you
cook the pasta separate and this dish was no different but the ease
of the
recipe was worth it and it was totally delicious and filling.
It's a slow
cooker, no - fail
kind of recipe.
You could substitute another
kind of oats for the
recipe, but just make sure you alter the
cooking to match the oats you're using and add in the snickerdoodle flavoring!
This is a no -
recipe kind of recipe, in that I can give you approximate
cooking times and temp, as well as an ingredient list and some tips and tricks but really encourage you to do you when you make this.
I've been experimenting with vegan and vegetarian cuisine and this
recipe tastes like a cross between my auntie's famous turkey stuffing (which is the best thing ever) and my grandma's vienna schnitzel, which is
kind of what it looks like / feels like when
cooked.
I happen to love
cooking directly from
recipes in that book; I know they're fussy and have a lot
of steps but that
kind of careful preparation is almost meditative, and leads to amazing dishes that are just right every time.
Just replace the tablespoon
of peanut butter in this
recipe with another
kind of nut or seed butter, and you have yourself a super simple, delicious, and protein - rich energy bar that doesn't require baking,
cooking, or any fancy - pants techniques.
I love this
kind of thing because not only do I get to bake and
cook to my heart's content, but I also get to do a lot
of figuring out: coming up with a menu, researching
recipes, scaling them up and down, and writing out list after list.
This is one
of those «dump (almost) all the ingredients into a slow
cooker then push on»
kind of recipes.
As far as using other fruits there are
recipes for several different
kinds of jams and jellies, freezer and
cooked n the box
of pectin.
These baked beans are way easier to
cook than put - all - in - one - pot
kind of cook - from - scratch
recipes, and have ton
of flavor.
This onion beef stew is a true slow
cooker recipe — all you need is a slow
cooker and no other
kind of cooking (such as frying pan or oven) is necessary.
After doing some research on this
kind of cheesecake I found a
recipe in my
Cooks Illustrated magazine.
I thought that this delicious tart would be perfect as my last post before Christmas: it's pretty much a clafoutis with a crust — I am a crust

If were
cooking this pot roast

cooker, it would take me 8 - 10 hours to achieve this

Then he told me the «
recipe» had no ingredients it was just boiled un seasoned meat and pasta piled on more carbs I had to decline the request to «
cook» something like this, then I found out out they were so poor growing up their parents had fooled them into believing that eating boiled unseasoned meat with pasta and potatoes was some

kind of recipe, I've made in the slow
cooker and on the stove top.

I'm all over any
kind of recipe that you can
cook in a slow
cooker and this sounds delicious!
I love zucchini, but get
kind of bored
of the usual ways I
