In Matthew 7:16, Jesus says that to
recognize false prophets, «you will know them by their fruits.»

Yet when
prophets came, including the Messiah Himself, they didn't
recognized or heed any of these
prophets, but instead, chased them out of town, made
false accusations against them, had them arrested, tortured, starved, stoned, and crucified.
But what's the worst, when the real prophecies of the Bible will come to pass, you will not
recognize them, because you're blinded by
false teachings of
false prophets.
It is important to
recognize that notwithstanding our easy castigation of certain ancient individuals as «
false prophets,» the distinguishing mark of all three classes of religious leaders was, in the main, their high sincerity.
In Matthew, Jesus tells His followers that the best way to identify
false prophets and «ferocious wolves» who disguise themselves in sheep's clothing, is to look at their «fruit»: «A good tree can not bear bad fruit, and a bad tree can not bear good fruit... Thus, by their fruit you will
recognize them.»
