I always
recommend the Mediterranean diet
as a healthy
substitute for the standard Western diet, which is overloaded with processed calories and excess refined
sugar, salt, and vegetable oils.
It would also be
recommended to cut down on soda, soft drinks, and juice,
as the
sugar content found in these drinks outweigh the pro's of other
substitutes such
as sparkling water with a twist of lemon for a natural sweetener.
