recording industry model with physical sales dropping to 10 - 15 % of the total.
Temperature
records up to the industrial age show exactly that pattern - a
slow decline since about 6,000 years ago.
That means a very quick rise would have been followed by a
decline slow enough to allow for it to be
recorded in the ice cores.
This slide into cold is showing up in German weather station
records where the last 30 yrs of winter (DJF) are trending -19 dgC per 1000 yrs, much faster than the
slow decline to normal glacials.
If the sun stays quiet we should soon see the level of atmospheric CO2 stabilise and then begin a
slow decline but since there is a long term lag of some 800 years shown in the historical
record between temperature and CO2 amounts we may still be seeing CO2 consequences from the Mediaeval Warm Period which could skew the figures away from those expected from current solar variations.
