Like the work of these artists, all of White's forms are purposely
flattened; any delineation of depth is articulated solely through color — bold
reds, browns, blues, greens, black — and hard
lines.
On the other hand though, if one isolates the 60 - year sinusoidal oscillation from the satellite data, the long term trend, here in
red, does appear to have
flattened out rather than steepening up — so it is possible that, as someone else noted above, the
red line is actually a bigger sinusoidal oscillation of the order of 250 — 300 years?
That would
flatten the right hand side of the curve and would give the appearance of a better fit (more
red dots clustered along a flatter
line).
