The study aims to determine whether receiving the Second Step intervention in middle school
reduces youth aggression,
sexual violence, and substance use, and teen dating violence when in high school; to evaluate Second Step program effects on trajectories of bullying,
victimization, homophobic teasing,
sexual harassment, and teen dating violence in high school, and to examine the relations among growth in aggression and substance use.
The goal of the programs is to prevent or
reduce incidences of teen dating violence perpetration and
victimization and incidences of
sexual violence in intimate adolescent relationships.
