Since 1992, SPAN has made it their mission to
reduce dog and cat overpopulation throughout Ventura County by raising public awareness about the direct consequences of
irresponsible breeding.
It was based on the fact that if we want to
reduce pet overpopulation and the tragedy of unwanted dogs in shelters, it would be best to never allow

reduce their frequency, but unplanned or
irresponsible breeding can lead to continuation or spreading of these problems in the dog population.
