reference doesn't imply you've endorsed her work, so I wouldn't worry too much about that, but if you want to, it's certainly reasonable to contact her and say, «Hey, I had a heads - up that you listed me as a
reference on a recent
job application.
Therefore, leaving off a
job from your resume isn't disastrous, as long as there's some
reference to the
job on your formal
application.
