refined cane sugar at 70.
That would certainly describe the relationship that many people have with
refined cane sugar.
The minty «chocolate like» carob flavor resembles biting into a light and crispy mint chocolate cookie, but without
refined cane sugar, dairy, caffeine or gmos.
While I would definitely not call this health food, I would say this is slightly healthier than your average cookie / average banana bread because it is made with coconut sugar instead of
refined cane sugar.

Think of sugar being
refined from
cane to pure, granular form.
You start off with sugar
cane, and through
refining you remove everything that is not sugar, and you are left with pure sugar.
Molasses is what's left over during the process of
refining of sugar
cane into white sugar.
But note, just like with
cane sugars, some companies make, use, or sell
refined and unrefined versions.
To replace
refined white or brown sugar cup for cup, dehydrated
cane sugar juice or coconut sugar works well.
A few natural sweeteners include: barley malt, evaporated
cane juice before it is
refined (
refined sugar is derived from
cane juice, but is extremely processed with many of the natural enzymes, vitamins, minerals, and fiber removed), fruit juice (fructose), rice syrup, honey, and sugar alcohols.
I typically resort to natural sweeteners like raw honey, pure maple syrup or molasses, since they are a source of natural sweetness but provide a wealth of nutritional benefits as well, but if it came down to
refined sugar or organic
cane sugar, I would still choose organic
cane sugar.
