Artspace, the award wining
regional public art gallery and museum was officially opened in 2003 and regularly displays international and domestic works, some of which trace the social and cultural heritage of Queensland.

We are a national membership organisation, bringing together individuals, institutions and organisations, including contemporary
art enthusiasts and collectors, curators and artists, and a UK - wide network of
public collections in
regional museums and
art galleries.
The Contemporary
Art Society has a history of placing important works by most of the most significant artists of the twentieth century in national and
regional public galleries in the UK for the first time — from Picasso to Hirst — continuing today with recent gifts of works for example, by current Turner Prize nominees Luke Fowler and Elizabeth Price (see «Recent Gifts Currently Showing» below).
It was produced by the Bulldog Trust in partnership with The
Arts Society and drew on the richness of
regional public collections including The National Jazz Archive; The Higgins Bedford; Leeds
Art Gallery; Town Hall Museum and
Art Gallery, Newark; and Shire Hall
Gallery, Stafford.
