You can totally
use regular almond butter and you could throw in a little maple syrup to amp up the maple flavor in the cake.
Since I don't have
regular almond butter on hand, I wonder what these would taste like using Jem's Cinnamon Red Maca butter and omitting the the pumpkin pie spices?
If you do not have cacao powder - you can just skip it and make
a regular almond butter cookie.
1/2 cup smoked almond butter (if you can't find smoked almond butter, just put some smoked salt in
your regular almond butter) Juice of one grapefruit 1 Tbsp tamari (or soy sauce)
Regular almond butter is much firmer.
On the nut butter front I change these about a bit,
a regular almond butter is lovely, but experiment we all have our favourite nut butters!
I will conceded that the added maple makes it somewhat less healthy than
regular almond butters.
Regular almond butter will work too - the toasted version is better but not essential
