This is the normal squat used in
regular weight training routines.
Including bodyweight exercises in any training program can be a great way to break from
the regular weight training routine and challenge yourself even further, since they are incredibly effective for building muscle and melting excess fat, while improving balance, flexibility and strength.

It's a great departure from my
regular routine of
weight training at the gym, and I'm hoping it will benefit my overall fitness this year.
I personally
weight train 3 x a week and randomly do a fun cardio session but it's not currently part of my
regular routine.
Although sports are great (and the type of exercise that most people consider fun), and I highly recommend getting involved in sports to keep yourself in great shape, you also still need to incorporate
weight training (or some form of resistance
training) into your
regular routines for many reasons.
Now, I'm not talking about body building or bulking muscle, but, rather, the implementation of a
regular, light
weight strength
training routine that targets specific muscle groups.
For many people, slow
weights can be their
regular strength
training routine.
You can perform this
routine at the end of your
regular weight -
training workout or on its own.
If you want to increase tone and currently practice a fast and flowing style of yoga, add
regular weight training to your
routine.
Make sure you build stress relief mechanisms into your
routine such as
regular exercise (cardio is a requirement, while
weight training ensures that your body looks and feels as youthful as your mind tells you it is) and possibly meditation or yoga.
