Richard Yarnell of Nottingham Trent University, UK, who works in South Africa and was involved with the research, says the new estimates of leopard killing may also mean that CITES, which
regulates trade in threatened species, may need to adjust the quotas it sets for
trophy hunting of leopards in the country.
