One is trying to make art that
relates, trying to work out a
cultural identity that would separate them in some fashion from certain things in America that were objectionable, working on a
cultural identity — trying to work out some connection with the concept or
idea of Africa.
Since the very
idea of a «psychedelic art» is tenuous, the exhibition does not propose a canonical presentation, but attempts to establish a series of artist experiments that
relate to the many «plateaux» of the psychedelic, and its multiple histories as they unfolded in particular
cultural contexts in Europe, Scandinavia, Latin America and Japan.
These posts inspire me because they are very
relate - able, they give me
ideas on how I should fit (or not care about fitting) into my social /
cultural circles.
Like any other social trait, sexual preferences, attitudes, behaviors, and identity can be flexible to some degree.1 Another
related concept, erotic plasticity, is defined as change in people's sexual expression (attitudes, preferences, behavior) due to socio -
cultural factors and situational concerns.2 In other words, the basic
idea is that someone's sexual response can fluctuate depending on their surrounding environment.
