Based on the book of the same name by former Boston Globe reporters Dick Lehr and Gerard O'Neill, «Black Mass,» which opens in theaters Sept. 18, is the story of Bulger's
relationship with John Connolly, the egregiously corrupt FBI agent who cultivated his boyhood buddy
as an
informant and then looked the other way
as crook became kingpin.
During the early part of the film, the story focuses on Bulger's power but then it becomes more about the
relationship between Bulger and John Connolly (Joel Edgarton), the FBI agent who used Bulger
as an
informant but who ultimately became corrupted by the mobster's influence.
This population, however, is roughly divided into two groups: «white picket fence» polyamorists,
as one
informant put it, who see their
relationships as committed, stable family arrangements; and, polyamorists who shun monogamy, describe themselves
as relationship anarchists or consensual non-monogamists, and engage in an evolving web of
relationships of varying degrees of longevity and mutual obligation.
The primary parent was interviewed to determine family structure (eg, married, biological parents, single parent, adoptive parents); degree of contact the primary and secondary
informants had with the child (eg, daily, episodic);
relationship to the child (eg, biological parent, stepparent); number of children in the home; race (categorical options, including other, were provided to the parent; this was done to meet federal reporting guidelines and, if sufficient variability was reported, to investigate race
as a moderator variable in secondary analyses); educational level and occupation of parental
informants; and income level.
In her work, she draws from mindfulness - based techniques, systems - based approach, cognitive - behavioral therapy,
relationship - based therapies such
as person - centered therapy, and dance / movement therapy (in which a focus is placed the body - mind connection and the role of the body
as a key
informant in supporting clients» emotional awareness).
