relatively deeply inset, thanks to the optical touch recognition (the same tech, and the same inset, is present on the Nook Simple Touch), and the surrounding gray
bezel is just
wide enough to be comfortably braced by a thumb when in the Standard Reading Position.
In design terms, the new Kindle Oasis follows the same slightly square - ish design path that its predecessor took — instead of uniform
bezels on all four sides, there are
relatively slim
bezels on three sides and one extremely
wide and thick side, with two buttons on it for turning pages — by default the key above moves the book a page ahead and the one below takes you to the previous page, but these can be reversed.
New age purists will also frown at the
relatively large
bezels around the display, which make it a much larger proposition than the XZ1 even though it does have a larger display — at 153 x 72 x 11.1 mm, it is actually larger,
wider and thicker than the Samsung Galaxy S9 which has a larger 5.8 inch display.
While talking about the front part, it has
relatively large
bezels, which makes it quite
wide for a smartphone with a 5.4 - inch display.
