relaxed about being a mom.

The first time someone told me to
relax about my kids, I
was a brand new
mom.

relax their body, and partners can do lots of skin - to - skin before and after feedings, so, there
is nothing like smelling a brand new baby on your chest and again, it kind of goes back to what you had mentioned
about skin - to - skin
being, you know, so important for the baby and so,
mom's not the only person who has the opportunity to do that.
But, I also like to kind of turn it around and say, «Well,
mom and baby
are going to
be sitting on the couch, in bed,
relaxing, wherever they
are breastfeeding for
about 45 minutes, eight or more times in a 24 hour period for the first couple of weeks; this
is your opportunity to reconnect with your partner».
So, all you new
moms who
are stressing out
about breastfeeding in the beginning,
relax, it
IS hard in the beginning, it does hurt, it
's ok to supplement with formula, but it does get easier to breastfeed.
, feeding a baby every 2 to 4 hours (with each feeding session lasting
about 20 minutes, give or take,) trying to figure out why a baby
is crying, tackling a never - ending pile of laundry,
being covered in spit up, doing a mountain of dishes (and more)-- and doing all of this on a serious of cat naps over a span of several weeks sounds like sitting back and
relaxing, well, I guess yes,
moms on maternity leave really
are enjoying kicking their feet up.

mom, knowing that your child
is an Introvert can help you
relax about his need for solitude.
[laughs] You know, a more
relaxed mom so, definitely what Keegan said
about just, focus on your kids, forget
about, if your house
is messy, if you
're messy, as long as everyone
's happy, that
's way more rewarding than a clean house.

is formula while the baby
is in skin - to - skin contact with mother

is still release and the
mom still benefits on those
relaxing effect of oxytocin.

is that when babies
are on their
mom's chest, they
are already so close to their food source that they do not have to make a lot of effort to wake up and find and learn that say shoulder calories from
being extended and also, the fearing of calm and connectedness that comes with breastfeeding, lets the
mom relaxed and enjoy breastfeeding instead of
being worried
about were her baby would when she wants to breastfeed.
The hardest thing for a
mom is to feel anxious
about reliving the newborn stage, but even bathing can
be fun and
relaxing with reminders of the process.
And because new
moms are more
relaxed about their new role in life, they
are often more responsive to their babies and find it easier to bond.
After a half hour or so (by
about 1:30) I
was vocalizing loud enough to wake my poor
mom, MIL and sister - in - law who vigilantly helped me
relax through each contraction.
I responded saying how glad I
was to hear GABA helps her to
relax, reduces her monkey mind and also helps her to sleep better and how sorry I
was to hear
about her
mom's stiffness, pain and anxiety.
Last time I
was there I wasn't a
mom and the vacation
