A leading theory is that star - making materials are scattered by torrents of energy
released by a galaxy's central supermassive black hole as it sloppily devours matter.

A newly
released image from NASA Hubble telescope reveals that a huge cluster of
galaxies called Abell 370, has an array of
galaxies guarding it and is useful in studying far - flung
galaxies by its gravitational lensing property.
Since this «Big Bang»
galaxies, stars and planets have gradually congealed out of the gases
released by that unique and momentous cosmic event.
Finkbeiner speculates the source may be electrons given off
by dark matter in our
galaxy or extraneous emission that accompanied the
release of the microwave background in the primordial universe.
But when Abazajian and his student Ryan Keeley analysed data from nearby dwarf
galaxies released by the Fermi telescope this year, they found no such signal there.
The jets of gas are thought to be driven
by the energy
released when matter is sucked into a black hole at the centre of a
galaxy.
It was previously observed
by Hubble as part of a collection of 59 images of merging
galaxies,
released on Hubble's 18th anniversary on April 24, 2008.
A
galaxy, no matter how small, must be massive enough to hold on to elements heavier than iron, which are
released by supernovae.
Research has shown these massive jets are powered
by the huge energy
released from the energetic hearts of
galaxies.
The cluster Abell 1689 magnified the infrared light of an infant
galaxy from 12.8 billion years in the past enough to just barely be detected
by the infrared camera on the Hubble Space Telescope and
by the Spitzer Space Telescope (see the STScI press
release for more on that).
The collision that produced it
released more power in an instant than is radiated
by all the stars and
galaxies in the universe at any moment.
Just a few days ago, the ESA
released this Hubble image of a pair of barred spiral
galaxies some 350 million light years away in the process of merging, their two galactic nuclei still separated
by a massive distance but throwing out clouds of hot gas and mid-formation stars.
The idea that the tremendous amounts of energy
released by quasars results from material being drawn into a black hole at the center of a
galaxy quickly rose as the leading explanation.
Quasars are among the most luminous objects in the universe, and generally are believed to be powered
by material being drawn into a supermassive black hole at the center of a
galaxy,
releasing large amounts of energy.
Detection of the spiral's dust in a bi-symmetric structure provides strong evidence of its position deep inside the giant elliptical host while the vast amounts of radio, visual, and x-ray emissions are a result of the energy
released by this continuing galactic merger (or «consumption» of a satellite
galaxy).
On June 16, 2010, the Hubble Heritage Project
released a very detailed, composite image of the dark lanes of dust crisscrossing the giant elliptical
galaxy Centaurus A. Taken on July 10, 2010 with the Hubble Space Telescope's Wide Field Camera 3, the panchromatic image of ultraviolet through near - infrared wavelengths shows new details such as bluish clusters of young massive stars and reddish gas nebulae undergoing star birth normally obscured
by dust.
It highlights the elongated extent of the relatively faint, old, and cool stars that make up the elliptical
galaxy, as well as the delicate dusty filaments of the barred
galaxy that was apparently engulfed
by Centaurus A (ESO photo
release).
«Understanding why and how
galaxies are affected
by their supermassive black holes is an outstanding puzzle in their formation,» co-author Shelley Wright, an astrophysicist at the University of California, San Diego, said in a press
release.
The Last Starfighter was
released in 1984 and stars Lance Guest as Alex Rogan, a teenage gamer who is recruited
by an intergalactic fleet, the Star League, to help defend the
galaxy against the evil forces of Xur and his Kodan Aramada... yes... I did just quote the movie.
no surprise here.anyone expecting samsung to show there best at mwc need to remember they are holding there own event and my guess is they will
release there top of the line tablet with «retina» display along with the
galaxy s3... samsung did the right thing
by holding off the announcement of the top tier devices as with so many devices being announced in mwc companies are having to share the spotlight where as when samsung announce the s3 all the spotlight will be on them which will create massive hype not that it isnt probably the most eagerly awaited android phone already.if samsung
release the s3 within a month of announcement and in europe and us at the same time then they will sell A LOT.
