With the upcoming
releases of
several new devices like the Amazon Kindle Fire, Nook
Tablet, and Kobo Vox in the U.S. and
other markets, the fourth quarter of 2011 will obviously be an important year for digital content, especially in terms of the approaching holiday purchasing season.
Several tablets already have already received the newly
released (in late July) Android 3.2 update that boasts improved backwards app compatibility and better hardware utilization among
other goodness mostly geared towards developers.
Maybe the «rush» to put out a
tablet had little to do with the iPad and everything to do with using first adopters as beta testers, and Google wants to find the bugs in Honeycomb before
several other tablets release in the next few months.
